History

First Baptist Church of Alpine originated in October, 1957 in a rented store building in Alpine. As the group of Southern Baptists began to grow, they erected a church building on Victoria Drive. When the freeway (I-8) was built, the church building was moved to it's present location. The church has had seven pastors. The first, Pastor J.C. Arnold served eleven years. Our current pastor, Pastor Hal Rollins, has served since June, 1976.

Affiliation

We are a Southern Baptist congregation affiliated with the San Diego Southern Baptist Association. We believe that every Christian has the responsibility and privilege to study the Word of God, and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, interpret the Scriptures individually. However, a general overview of the basic tenets of our faith can be found in the Baptist Faith and Message.

How to become a Christian

God wants you to be saved, therefore, He made the requirements very simple for you. You must know that:

A simple prayer is all that is required:

"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and want to be a Christian. I believe you paid the price for my sins, and I want to accept you as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for coming into my life. From this point on, my life belongs to you."

If this is your prayer, pray it right now and Christ Jesus will, according to His Word, come into your life.
